What happens at home?

Cardiolab staff visit the patient, fit the monitor and explain its use. After the recording period, they return to collect it. The recording is analysed and results are sent to the referring clinician within 48 hours.

How long do I wear a Holter monitor?

Holter recording commonly lasts 24 to 48 hours. Cardiolab will explain the period prescribed for your study.

Can I shower while wearing it?

No. Do not shower while wearing the Holter monitor. Staff will explain how to keep the device dry at fitting.

What happens when monitoring ends?

Cardiolab returns to collect the device and analyses the recording.

Do I need a referral to request a visit?

You can request an appointment directly or ask your GP to refer you. Cardiolab will confirm any referral requirements before testing. Eligible Medicare services are bulk billed.
