What happens at home?

Cardiolab staff visit the patient, fit the monitor and explain its use. After approximately 24 hours, they return to collect it. The readings are analysed and results are sent to the referring clinician within 48 hours.

How long do I wear the monitor?

The monitor is generally worn for approximately 24 hours, including daytime and overnight readings.

What happens during the test?

A portable cuff takes blood pressure readings repeatedly while you generally continue your normal daily activity.

What happens when monitoring ends?

Cardiolab returns to collect the device and analyses the readings.

Do I need a referral to request a visit?

You can request an appointment directly or ask your GP to refer you. Cardiolab will confirm any referral requirements before testing. Eligible Medicare services are bulk billed.
